Congratulations to Ayla, who has been achieving great things in her chosen sport of Karate.
Nine years of training under coach John Connolly and assistant Jonathan Barrett at the Cork Kenpo Karate Club in Ballyanly, and the hard work that is entailed in doing that, have resulted in Ayla being selected to compete as a member of the Irish squad in the WKF World Championships in Tenerife this month, in the Cadet 54Kg category.
In recent months, she has won several events in what has been a great year for her and the Club.
Gold in the British Open Championship, Cadet 54Kg, along with a Silver medal in the team event.
Gold in the IJKA World Championships in the under-16 Category.
Gold in the Irish Open in the Cadet 54Kg Category
Gold in the National Championships in the Cadet 54Kg Category.
We wish her every success in the World Championships, and we congratulate John Connolly and all at the Cork Kenpo Karate Club for the great work they are doing.
